Kia ora e hoa mā! I'm Jess, a traditional and digital illustrator based in Aōtearoa who does primarily a lot of fan art, the occasional aihikirīmi painting and I'm slowly building my portfolio of polers and cirque artists in their element. I work primarily with coloured pencils, watercolour, acrylics and soft pastels as well as Adobe Photoshop. I can't wait to work with you in bringing your ideas to life!

Pricing below is the starting point and may vary based on the commission. Time frames are estimates. *OP = original price
Full body or 3/4 body portrait $160
3 - 4 weeks. Includes initial concept sketch and revision if needed.
A great option for those who have a persona or theme that you want encapsulated in a painting with room for background/foreground details, or a landscape focused piece. Best option for polers and cirque artists!
A4 minimum.
A3 = OP* + 60%
A2 = OP* + 80%
A1 = OP* + 100%
A0 = OP* + 120%
Close-up/bust portrait $120
2 - 3 weeks. Includes initial concept sketch and revision if needed.
This is more character/subject centric. Best suited for more detail on the character themselves rather than their surroundings.
A5 minimum.
A4 = OP* + 40%
A3 = OP* + 60%
A2 = OP* + 80%
A1 = OP* + 100%
A0 = OP* + 120%
Freestylin' - a sketchy wee painting $60
Up to a week turnaround
No initial concept sketches for this one. Default colourised background only. All I need is the subject matter and preferred size. 50% of original price (e.g., $60 for an A5 portrait.) Perfect for a wee memento, a fan art moment or just a fun sketchy piece by me.

Terms of service
Please ensure you carefully read and accept the following terms before requesting a commission.
General
> Terms of service and pricing are liable to change at any time, however I will hold you to the terms and pricing listed at the time of your request.
> The prices listed are the starting point only.
> I reserve the right to refuse or cancel a commission request at any point.
> If you can provide photo references to support your idea this will help me fulfil your request appropriately, and prevent any potential errors or confusion. If the photos of you have been taken professionally, please also provide the photographer's credentials.
> Please use the opportunity during the sketching/revision stage to voice any preferences, changes or concerns. Any add-on requests after the illustration is underway will add time to the commission and add to the overall cost.
> Any aggressive, rude, or inappropriate behaviour will result in your commission being cancelled and you will not be offered a refund.
What I will do:
> Fan art (including characters that are humanoids and/or creatures/animals etc), people, pets, polers, cirque artists, skr!pp@$, OC's, slight NSFW (blood or nudity.)
What I WON'T do:
> Extreme or explicit fetishised NSFW content, other art styles, still life or landscape-only paintings, or anything defamatory, discriminatory or offensive.
Pricing and payment
> Payments are made through NZD via bank transfer, so you will be emailed an invoice.
> For commissions under the Freestylin' category, I will require the total payment upfront. Commissions outside of this category will allow for split payment: 50% before the initial sketch/revision stage and then the remainder once the concept has been finalised.
> Additional characters will be charged at 80 - 100% of the total commission price depending on their complexity.
> A plain or colour wash background with basic chiaroscuro is free.
> Textured background, or added elements in the fore/background will be charged at 40 - 60% of the commission price depending on the complexity.
> Full foreground and/or background will be charged at 60 - 80% of the commission price depending on the complexity.
> Add-ons after illustration has been started will cost 50 - 100% of original price depending on complexity.
> If I haven't started the commission yet, you will be entitled to a full refund of funds already paid. If the concept has been finalised, you will only be refunded 50% of the deposit. No refunds if I have started the illustration.
Commission process
> The time frame for commissions will range from less than a week up to a month or two, depending on the demands of the commission so please specify if you have a specific deadline for your artwork to be done by. This is factoring in my workload and personal matters.
> I will send you updates of the work in progress from baseline sketch, to final line art, to blocked shading/colouring, and finally the finished piece.
> The final piece will be sent via Google Drive as a watermarked 3000px PNG and/or JPG.
> If you would like for me to print and ship your artwork, please let me know in your commission request as this will be an added cost for the commission. I offer prints only, no framing.
Usage rights and permissions
> You are PROHIBITED from using my work to train generative AI or sell for NFT's.
> You CANNOT resell, redistribute, or copy my work for commercial purposes or monetary gain, nor paint over or edit out the watermarks and claim the work as your own.
> If you wish to post my work on your social media, please credit me.
> Pricing for commercial usage of my work will be charged at 150% of the total price but may increase based on the scope of the request.
> All other rights are reserved by me, and I can share the illustration process and final piece publically and on social media outlets unless you wish for it to remain private. You will need to let me know of this when you request a commission.
